Always Have Your Camera Ready
When I travel, I always have my big Nikon camera at the ready. That means I have the lens cap off and my finger on the shutter button. That way, if something pops up unexpectedly, I won't miss capturing a great shot. This happened to me recently while driving from my hotel to the airport on the island of Lanai as a herd of deer dashed in front of our car. It was absolutely incredible to see them literally leaping across the road, and because I was ready, I was able to capture some great shots of a really cool moment (including the one above)!
