1967 Chevy C10 With LS1 Heart #TENSEMA16

Elsewhere on this website is a feature on a C10 built with a nostalgia theme we spotted in front of the Las Vegas Convention Center for the 50th SEMA Show. Nearby, we ran across another incredible C10, this one with a progressive theme.

Truck owner Rod Parsons from Charleston, West Virginia, and Greg Killen from The Project Shop in Charlotte, North Carolina, teamed up to create a hot rod truck that seamlessly combines everything cool about a '67 Chevy C10 with everything cool about a Camaro ZL1. That's a lot of cool.

Rod calls his 1967 Chevy the “ZL1 C10.” Power is provided by an Chevy LSA supercharged engine, dressed up with a one-off blower hat and custom coil covers for a unique look. The engine is backed up by an L85E transmission, and, further back, a Moser Engineering rearend. Keeping with the theme started by the engine, the C10 hood was modified with the distinctive center of a 2014 Camaro ZL1 hood. At the rear of the truck, and you'll see the rear spoiler wing and diffuser. The exterior was treated to many other mnodifications before being painted Desert Khaki. A No Limit chassis carries the custom pickup, sitting on B-Forged wheels wrapped with Michelin radials. A peek into the cab reveals a fully-updated red leather interior, including Classic Instruments and a Billet Specialties steering wheel.

Prior to the 50th SEMA Show, the “LS1 C10” has been appearing at a variety of shows in 2016, earning awards wherever it went. Here at SEMA, it won a Chevrolet Performance Parts & Accessories Design Award. The season's not over on the West Coast and it's not over for the “LS1 C10.” Rod will show the '72 Chevy at a couple more events out here before taking the truck back to West Virginia. In between shows, we've invited the truck into the Classic Trucks studio for a feature photo shoot. That means we'll have the full story for you in 2017.
